Meet Kerrith

Updated: Apr 22

Meet one of our amazing volunteers and Happily Heifer After Board member – Kerrith!

“I am one of the 'oldies' of the volunteers - in age, not experience!

I found Happily Heifer After after retiring from a career in corrective services, disability and education. From the moment I came for my interview I knew that this is where I wanted to be. I knew instantly that this was an emotionally and ethically safe place.

I have just achieved my second anniversary with Happily Heifer After and look forward to more.

I could go on and on about the joy of working with the animals. Nothing is more satisfying than leaving your shift knowing that they all have full bellies, fresh water, and a clean home. And also knowing that tomorrow, and the next day and all days after that they will have the same standard of wonderful care."

Kerrith and Crackles

"One of the great things about Happily Heifer After is who I work for and with. Every day I am in awe of the commitment, knowledge, and kindness of management and volunteers. Working here gives me great hope of the future for animals and society."

Kerrith has been contributing to the smooth running of the HHA for almost two years, organising and managing events, managing repairs and fundraising, and basically doing whatever needs to be done.

A recent addition to our board, Kerrith retired from an impressive career in corrective services and we are very grateful to have an individual of her calibre on our team.

Cheers Kerrith and Team, I am so very happy in my heart and soul that there is a place like this for our beloved animals in need. The Covid pandemic, current financial crisis for many people and the lack of secure homes have left many animals abandoned in in dire need. Edgars Mission in Melbourne showed this need for the facilities, the space, the commitment from people and the sponsorship to make these animals lives peaceful and for them to be loved. As a Ratepayer in the Noosa Shire, I would like to see funding from our Council but also from our Queensland State Government particularly as I have voted on the last few elections for Animal Rights. Well…
